I had an opportunity to go down some partner discussions with ESRI on the web service offerings.  It was clear during my discussions with them, in March 2007, that they didn&#039;t view it as a strategic component of their business, but more of a lab offering....bound to happen.

		<description>I can confirm that this news is true. ArcWeb is now in maintenance mode, with very minimal support. Most of the ArcWeb staff have either left the company or moved elsewhere within ESRI, and the division is essentially liquidated. Surprising it wasn&#039;t officially announced at the Dev Summit, but I guess the idea was to sweep it under the rug and hope nobody noticed.

Now&#039;s probably a good time to consider migrating all your ArcWeb-based apps over to a more stable web mapping API.</description>
